the good, the bad, the ugly

so thanksgiving weekend started off pretty well. i worked saturday then headed over to tim's for a birthday bash. i reunited with a lot of my old crew that i don't see much of anymore. it was an odd atmosphere in any case. a good friend of mine announced her engagement, another buddy and his girlfriend split up, and my oma died that morning. in any case, we celebrated the good, the bad, and the ugly, and i drank a bottle of Wolf blass... the rest of the weekend was filled with hanging out with friends, family, the fair, and lots of foooood. considering i had most of the week off work due to visitation and funeral arrangements i headed to hamilton with my bro on monday night. the only eventful portion of that night was getting into a bit of a fender bender with my friend Cassandra. note2self: always look for vehicles before changing lanes. anywho, that put a bit of a damper on the evening since she decided to go home instead of coming to the theatre with us to watch Friday Night Lights. tuesday i went down to Tdot with Noel and wife, Amy to show her some sights. Apparently the only thing they considered 'sights' was the glass floor of the CN tower and Sam the Record Man's. i wasn't quite ready to leave after 3 hrs of being in the big city so i called up James Brink and we went out for some sushi and hung out at his place. Always good times with JB. i headed back to Hamilton in the morning and arrived at the station just in time to make it to my oma's funeral in New Market ontime.
The funeral was nice, as far as funerals go. i haven't been to very many but i don't think you ever get used to them. i don't think about death very much, and then all of a sudden someone you know dies and it all of a sudden becomes very real. death is weird that way.
after the internment we had lunch at the church and i met a lot of family i didn't know and didn't know me. it was pretty fun.
thursday i caught up on some much needed sleep and then headed to Toronto again for the annual Board Show. we had a successful trip considering i came out with a new plank and pants, and my bro found a hella-tite coat and board. lots of good stuff, lots of stuff on the wish list, and lots of money spent... hurray for working.
later y'all
